Mayor - Terry L. Matthews

Terry MatthewsTerry L. Matthews was appointed Mayor, by the Board of Trustee's on October 3, 2016, after the resignation of former Mayor David Owen. Terry is a lifelong resident of South Chicago Heights. Prior to him being appointed Mayor, he was a Village Trustee for 23 years. He served from 1989 to 1997 and elected again to another four terms in 2001-2013. During his first two terms as Trustee he was the Village Board liaison to the Building Department. His last 15 years he served as the liaison to the Public Works Department; Terry was chairman of the Village Zoning Board from 1987 to 1989. He served on the Chicago Heights School District 170 Board of Education in 1997-1999. Terry has served for 16 years as Bloom Township Democratic Committeeman. He is former chairman of the Elected Officials Subcommittee for the Illinois 80th Legislative District and former member of the 80th District Advisory Board of the Aging. Terry is the Special Assistant to the Cook County Highway Department. He has been a Village baseball program manager, coach and umpire. He is married to his wife Carla. He has a son Vinnie and a daughter Jamie. Terry and Carla have five grandchildren Santino, Lorenzo, Dominick, Mateo, and Vincenzo.

Trustee - Tracy Bosco

Tracy BoscoNewly elected to the Village Board as Trustee in April 2015. She comes with experience having served on the Bloom Township Trustee of Schools as Vice President and Secretary since 2007. Which provided consolidated financial service which help reduce the operating costs and earnings for 17 local and surrounding school districts. She served on the South Chicago Heights Beautification Committee 2004-2008, along with actively participating in the 100th Celebration of South Chicago Heights on the Centennial Committee in 2006. She has always volunteered her time in the community, schools, working with the Girl Scouts and coaching different sports and activities since 1995. Active member of the PTA, holding executive office 2002 through 2004. She is employed at Homewood-Flossmoor High School. Tracy has resided in South Chicago Heights for more than 15 years. She has 3 children. She is a graduate of Bloom Trail High School and attended Prairie State College.

Trustee - Eugene Fazzini

Eugene FazziniEugene is a resident of South Chicago Heights for the last 52 years and is well known in the community as “Champ”. Eugene joined the Fire Department in 1972, where he earned his Emergency Medical Technician Certification.  By 1975, he became Captain of the Fire Department.  In 1974, Eugene became a full time employee for the Public Works Department.  Than in 1976, he pursued a career with the South Chicago Height Police Department as a Dispatcher.  He then completed the Police Academy in 1977 to become a full-time Village police officer. During his 31 years with the South Chicago Heights Police Department, Eugene was promoted to Sergeant in 1980, Lieutenant in 1993, and Deputy Chief in 2007 before retiring in May 1, 2008. Eugene was appointed a Trustee in May 2008 to fill a Village Board vacancy.  Eugene brings a great love for the community.

Trustee - Araceli "Sally" Marrufo

Araceli Marrufo Sally was appointed a Trustee in July 2004 to fill a Village Board vacancy and was elected again in 2007. She serves as the Village Board liaison to the South Chicago Heights Youth and Senior Recreational Department. From 1998 to 2003 she served as the Executive Assistant to the offices of the Village President, Village Administrator and Village Treasurer. Her experience in governmental affairs also includes serving as secretary to the Village's Police and Fire Board and the Zoning Board. She also attended Case Western Reserve University in Ohio, where she pursued communications. Trustee Marrufo majored in accounting at Prairie State College, earning Phi Beta Kappa recognition. She has a Bachelor’s of Arts degree from Governors State University and is currently pursuing a Master’s in Public Administration Degree with additional coursework in human resources and accounting.  Sally has resided in South Chicago Heights for 30 years.   She is married and has two children.

Trustee - Terence Fiorenzo

Terry Fiorenzo

Terry Fiorenzo served as a Trustee from 1989 to 1997. He was appointed Trustee in October 2016 to fill a Village Board vacancy and was appointed as liaison to the Village’s Public Works Department. Terry is currently working at the Flossmoor Public Library as a Maintenance Technician and Terry and his wife are successful owners of a dry cleaner business in Park Forest. Terry graduated from Governors State University earning a Bachelor's of Arts Degree and has served as Steger School District 194 Board Member from 2003 to 2016. Terry has a great "Passion" for the South Chicago Heights Kiwanis Club, which he’s been a member for 36 years. In September 2016, he was recognized by Kiwanis International and presented the "Jim Reed Award of Excellence". A recipient of this award is someone who goes "Above and Beyond" to serve the Children of The World. Terry is lifelong resident and is proud to serve our community.

Trustee - John M. Ross

John RossJohn M. Ross has served as a Trustee for sixteen years; he is liaison to the South Chicago Heights Police Department. He has resided in the community for 54 years. Ross was a member of the South Chicago Heights Zoning Board. He also served as the president of the Bloom Township Trustees of Schools, which is responsible for the management of millions in area school funds. Ross has been employed by Jewel Food Stores for 39 years. For the past 31 years he has been an assistant store director in charge of total store operations at Jewel stores in communities in Illinois and Indiana. He has attended numerous seminars on the subjects of cash management, government law and regulations, community affairs, communications and operational development, leadership as well as administrative personnel issues. He is a Marian Catholic High School graduate and attended Prairie State College.

Trustee - Eric Stanton

Eric StantonEric was appointed Trustee in October of 2013 to fill a Village Board vacancy. He serves as the Village Board liaison to the South Chicago Heights Building Department. Eric has served on the Beautification Committee since 2005. He also served on the Zoning Board from 2010 to 2013. Eric is a journeyman electrician and is certified in industrial maintenance as well as HVAC. He obtained his certification from Prairie State College. Eric has been a resident for more than 13 years. He is married to Lisa and they have two sons. Eric values the integrity of this village and is proud to be a part of its continuing success.
