John Ross

John M. Ross has served as a Trustee for twenty-eight years.  Recently, John was re-elected to serve the community an additional 4-year term.  John has held an elected position since 1981 serving the residents of South Chicago Heights and the Bloom Township area.  During John twenty-eight years as Trustee he served as liaison to the South Chicago Heights Police Department and has been liaison to Community Economic Development and Fire Department.  

Civic Service & Involvement

Ross was a member of the South Chicago Heights Zoning Board. He also served as the president of the Bloom Township Trustees of Schools, which is responsible for the management of millions in area school funds. 

He has attended numerous seminars on the subjects of:

• Administrative personnel issues
• Cash management
• Communications and operational development
• Community affairs
• Government law and regulations
• Leadership 

Employment & Education

He has resided in the community for 68 years and retired from Jewel Food Stores after 42 years of service as an assistant store director.

He is a Marian Catholic High School graduate and attended Prairie State College.
