BOIL YOUR WATER BEFORE USING
DO NOT DRINK THE WATER WITHOUT BOILING IT FIRST. Bring all water to a full boil for five minutes, and let it cool before using, or use bottled water. Boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, and food preparation until further notice. Boiling kills bacteria and other organisms in the water.
What happened?
Morning of January 2nd, the Village of South Chicago Heights water system experienced multiple main breaks.
These breaks affected water pressure throughout the Village and reduced water in our elevated storage tanks below recommended operating levels.
The IEPA requires that acceptable bacteria sample results be obtained before the boil water advisory can be lifted. We expect to lift the boil water advisory by Thursday, January 4th .

Una orden de agua hervida para los residentes en el pueblo de South Chicago Heights está en vigencia hasta nuevo aviso.
