In August 1997, Jake Kozinski
became a Police Officer for the Village of South Chicago Heights. Jake
participated in the South Suburban S.A.F.E. initiative, a multi-jurisdictional
Task Force and is constantly training to improve his policing skills. Officer
Kozinski was promoted to the position of Detective and became certified as a
Lead Homicide Investigator.
In May 2008, Jake was promoted to
the rank of Sergeant, and became the supervisor of all investigations and
served as a watch commander. Sergeant Kozinski became a supervisor for
the multi-jurisdiction Iliana Gang Task Force.
In October 2019, Jesse Kozinski was
promoted to the rank of Lieutenant. As the department’s Lieutenant, his
responsibility expanded to administrative responsibilities, investigation
coordination, as well as supervising the patrol officers and sergeants.
Jake’s legacy includes honors for
outstanding police work from; The Illinois State Chiefs of Police Associations,
Cook County Sheriff, Chicago Police Department, and The Village of South
Chicago Heights.
